Album Review: Indicud by Kid Cudi

Cudi released his highly anticipated Indicud album this past week. I gotta say it is dark, but showing a "happier" Cudi. Although there are songs like "Unfuckwittable" and "Immortal" that show him never changing. In a sense, he is evolving, but at the same time he is keeping his original flow like with " Mad Solar" and "Just What I Am". The dark undertone is still felt throughout the whole album, especially in songs like "Cold Blooded", "Burn Baby Burn", and "Lord of the Sad and Lonely". These songs almost remind of the Cudi we saw in Man on the Moon 1 and 2. The party side of Cudi is shown through "Brothers", "Afterwords", "Young Lady", and "Girls"(which is probably one of my favorite track; I love Too $horts verse). Cudi's versatility with rapping and singing is shown in several songs like "Beez"(RZA going off on haters!), and "Solo Dolo Part 2" (Cudi rappin with a intricate flow from KDot). This variation in his music is what makes this album a step forward in the right direction. This only makes me more excited to see what is in store for Mr. Solo Dolo's next project. 4 out of 5 stars
